Yoshinori Mizutani attempted ‘to visualize the movement of his observing eyes, and crystallize the visual experience of meditating and wandering upon the blooming cherry blossom’, one of the most sacred Japanese themes, in his series titled ‘Sakura’.

To present Mizutani’s latest work, Ibasho gallery created, together with artist/photographer Yoshinori Mizutani and designer Akiko Wakabayashi, the photobook Sakura. The result is a curious and captivating, almost hypnotizing, display that reflects Mizutani’s fascination with the cherry blossom. The beautiful and detailed images form a harmonious imagery that invites the reader to gaze into the passing of time.
